Quise Williams can fondly remember his first encounter with the world of fitness.
He was 13 years old and attended Zumba with his mother. At the age of 16, he taught himself.
“It’s an endorphin rush. After that, you will feel better – especially when you are dancing.
Williams, 27, has dedicated his life to fitness. In addition to working as a microbiologist for a pharmaceutical company in Baltimore, Abingdon teaches fitness classes at Dina Work Out World in Abingdon and Aberdeen, as well as dance and fitness studios. Audwood High School also offers free weekly fitness classes on the tennis courts, which it does every time an outbreak occurs. Williams is the first Maryland instructor for GROOV3, teaching live, choreography classes across the country.
He says that living in Harford County is “quiet.” “It’s a very connected community. Everyone gets to know each other and everyone gathers around the community.
Williams was inspired to see the client reach their fitness goal.
“It’s nice to see people perform choreography,” he says. “It’s a proud time to have a dance teacher – to see them lead their best lives and kill their dance career. Also, encourage the class and make them feel like the star of the show.
Finally, Williams said he wanted to open his own dance studio. “There are not so many dance studios [in Harford County]. “It’s important that there are people from all walks of life in that community,” he said.
Different educators bring different approaches to classes and clients, says Williams.
“Some are very good at involving the public. Some are good at exercise. [instruction]. Some do everything. ” “I can do it all.”
Over the years, Williams may have shown improvement in his teaching style.
“When I was in high school, I used to dance on stage instead of teaching people. After college, I started teaching consistently and consistently. I developed those skills by interacting with people and dancing. ”Williams, who taught at Zumba, earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia.
Advice for those who work to increase physical activity? Do not compare yourself with others.
“Fitness is not one-size-fits-all,” he said. “Everyone’s journey is different. You can’t compare yourself to the next person. You need to look inside out for fitness and wellness.
