Divine Fitness cuts the ribbon in Moody on November 2. Willie Strickland, owner of Divine Fitness, told the crowd that the new fitness center is based on the Christian faith.

Gym is free to participate and is available for donations.

“We want to be as big a blessing in this area as we can,” Strickland said. “God’s grace is enough so far and I know it will continue.”

Strickland has been working at its own fitness center since 2005. He thanked Leeds Greenwave for the start and inspiration of the trip. First-team coach Darren Carter wanted to join the JSU football team. He approached Strickland for training.

“He built the team, which gave me confidence that I could train people and help them get better physically,” Strickland said.

Strickland continued to train players at Leeds High School from 2008 to 2015.

“Then I can’t thank Leeds coach Keith Ethereum for giving me the opportunity to work with the players,” Strickland said. “I am a 1993 Leeds High School graduate and I will always be Green Wave.”

By 2018, when Strickland began conducting Bible studies focusing on the athletes he trained, the Divine Fitness Ministries began to take shape. He thanked John Dyer for teaching him how to study God’s Word. Before leaving the fitness club at the club, he had 33 people who were led to Christ.

Divine fitness is at the heart of Moody’s in this place, ”says Strickland. “We want to be Moody’s heartbeat.”

When Strickland came to be the owner of the building in July, his business and ministry development were successful. His dream was to have his own resources, and his second dream was to be able to present these achievements to his parents. However, Strickland’s father passed away on December 10, 2020. He said that the rest of his family was proud to see him succeed.

“I picked up my mother and we still have respect for her, my brother and sister,” Strickland said.

Strickland believes the business can benefit from donations because all departments of the ministry are sponsored by St. Claire County.

“Everything you see in that gym is God’s grace. It was not my job. It made me post what I was doing on Facebook and you were obedient to the call. I am forever grateful. ”

The Fitness Center is decorated in a variety of colors to represent different parts of the Bible. He said he believed the scriptures on the wall had inspired some to come to the fitness center. It showed the colors of each school in the area in the logo design.

“As the scripture says, ‘The word of God is living and active.’
